Loris and Lucy talk the talk
Hello everyone
Loris and Lucy turned up at Yarra Junction Library, Victoria to talk and listen to the good local folk who are keen users and supporters of their marvellous library. We, the authors (Camille Cain and Raema Hayes) also appeared so Loz and Luce would not completely take over the show. Library manager, the charming Sandra Hammett and her staff - special note for librarian extraordinare, Maria Mithen - introduced us and spoiled us with a glorious bunch of pink lilies after the talk.
It was a very receptive audience - we talked about the book and how we can stay in better health and sounder mind as we travel through later life. Raema and I had a 'Shoot the Breeze" section where we listened to people in the audience talk about their later life experiences. There were lots of laughs as well as serious comments. The audience was keen to see us continue raising awareness of this stage of life for women which we plan to do.
Next talk is on at Warrnambool, Friday April 4 at noon. Venue is being arranged but more information re this and also tickets, may be obtained from Mary McLeod of Warrnambool City Council, who is organising the event. Mary could be contacted through Warrnambool Council 5559 4800.
Raema and I are enjoying meeting women out there and we even run into men! Good on you, fellas. It might be a book about you, next. As we explained at the last talk, it's great for men to attend talks as it helps them understand a woman's point of view and how they're feeling about things. We greatly enjoy hearing from men and women and hope that we have a male roll-up at Warrnambool as well. No show without Punch! (not too many punches).
Note: Must start an "Exasperated" column on the blog. Ever tried to prise off those "protective" seals that are put into face powder containers just over the small holes where the powder sprinkles out? Talk about drive you mad ...
If you've got an Exasperated comment, just drop it in here at the Loris and Lucy blog.
Until next time
Happiness and health,
Camille.
